QEC Engineering Limited is a wholly Ghanaian company which was established and registered Ghana in 2010 with its headquarters in Accra.
QEC Engineering Limited specializes in providing industrial waste water treatment and solid waste management services to the mining and manufacturing sectors. QEC Engineering utilizes a proprietary technology approved by Ghana Environmental Protection Agency for Arsenic and other Heavy metals treatment in the mining industry.
The Company develops targeted, site-specific strategies for treatment and/or remediation of liquid and solid wastes. Projects typically progress through a process of bench-scale testing, pilot testing, and ultimately to installation and operation of full-scale treatment facilities. The technology used for water treatment produces by-products that are proven to be stable over the long term. Similarly, the methods used to treat and remediate solid wastes are designed to control and manage environmental geochemistry in a long-term, sustainable manner.
QEC Engineering Limited operational strategy include among others, auditing the entire water treatment systems and providing streamlined solution for control and management of industrial waste water. The quality of the treated water prior to discharge to the natural environment meets Ghana Environmental Protection Agency (GEPA) Specific Industrial Effluent Discharge Limits (MPL).
For efficient management of waste water, the company evaluates mine-wide water balance and quality of all water streams. The evaluation includes site visit to the mine and review historical data of inflows and outflows of water within the footprint of the mine. The outcome of the review provides information for consideration of potential reengineering of water treatment systems. QEC Engineering Ltd, investigates natural attenuation opportunities to reduce contamination of waste water streams.
